Many consider the Shakespeare’s Globe to be the most prominent theatre in the capital of England, London. The theatre is located in the London Borough of Southwark, on the southern bank of the famous Thames River.

The theatre is a reconstruction of the legendary Globe Theatre. The Globe Theatre was originally built in 1599 and was destroyed by fire fourteen years later in 1613. One year after the fire theatre was rebuilt but sadly three decades later was demolished. The current theatre was founded by noted American actor and director Sam Wanamaker and was opened to the public during the late 1990s.
